SXSQ: INTERACTIVE

Austin, TX. March 11-14, 2015

What a blast. Austin is a pretty down-to-have-fun city on an off day, but with the buzz of South-by kicking off with the 2015 Interactive Festival the city was crawling with thousands of onlookers, food trucks, bands, and pop-up interactive displays.

While it really didn’t take much to convince us to get on a plane there, having one of our favorite startups presenting at Yale’s Startup Panel was the icing on the cake.

Competing for $100,000, Jasjit Singh, CEO of Hotspot got to show off the early iteration of his quickly growing deals-empire. Hotspot allows users to unlock sweet deals (i.e. $1 beers for you and all your friends, free appetizers, $0.50 shots, etc) for just texting your friends to join you. With hundreds of business signing up and with viral user growth underway, Hotspot is opening its doors for investors; and SXSW was an exceptional way to get the party started.

See you next year, Austin!
